Day 5: God's Presence in Suffering

Reading: Psalm 34:17-22

Life's challenges can sometimes make us question God's love or presence. However, today's Psalm assures us that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."  This promise doesn't mean we won't face difficulties, but it guarantees God's presence with us through them. 

Reflect on a current struggle in your life. How might acknowledging God's presence change your perspective on this situation? Take time to invite God into your pain today, trusting that He is near and working for your good, even when circumstances seem extreme.

Prayer:

Father, in my pain, remind me You are near. When my heart feels crushed and my spirit feels low, help me to lean on Your presence and trust Your promises. You are close to the brokenhearted, and today I rest in that truth. I invite You into my struggle — comfort me, strengthen me, and remind me that I am never alone. Thank You for being my refuge even in the darkest moments.
