Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Lamar Batiste, a Baton Rouge, LA native born on February 4, 1979, is a dedicated spiritual leader and a devoted family man. He cherishes his life with his wife, Stacey L. Batiste, and their two daughters, Kyler and Naya.
A proud graduate of Baker High School, Pastor Batiste further expanded his horizons by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. His passion for theological studies led him to attain a Master of Theological Studies from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is pursuing a Doctoral degree in Education Ministry at the same institution.
Since February 2018, Pastor Batiste has been serving Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, guiding its congregation toward spiritual enlightenment and growth. With a heart committed to evangelism, he has tirelessly worked to bring countless souls closer to Christ, extending his teachings to reach people from various walks of life, backgrounds, and ages. Recognizing the essence of Christ's teachings, Pastor Batiste emphasizes the importance of meeting individuals where they are, ensuring his ministry reaches beyond the confines of the church.
Outside the pulpit, Pastor Batiste is a proud and active member of the Xi Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc and the 100 Black Men. A pillar in his community, his dedication is evident in his ministry and consistent volunteer work. Amidst his commitments, he finds joy in international travels with his beloved wife, Stacey, and their daughters, immersing them in diverse cultures and experiences.
