Title: "Let It Go... So You Can Grow"
One of the hardest truths in life is this: healing cannot happen while you're still holding on to what hurt you. In Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant, we see the dangerous effects of refusing to release offense. The servant was forgiven an unpayable debt by the king, but immediately turned around and choked a fellow servant over a much smaller debt. The result? He was thrown into prison—not because of what someone did to him, but because of what he refused to release.
Here’s the reality: unforgiveness is a toxin that contaminates your soul. You may say you've forgiven, but if you're still counting offenses, still replaying what happened, still holding others hostage with resentment—you’re not walking in healing. You're archiving pain. You're spiritually stuck.
Jesus' teaching isn't just about forgiveness, it’s about freedom. You can’t grow into the next version of you if you’re still tied to what wounded the last version of you. You may have been hurt, betrayed, overlooked, or mistreated—but forgiveness isn’t about letting them off the hook… it’s about letting you off the chain.
Letting go doesn’t mean it didn’t matter. It means your future matters more.
Reflection:
What have you been holding that God has already forgiven? Are you still keeping a record of wrongs that God is asking you to release? If healing is what you’re after… maybe the first step is unclenching your fist.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the forgiveness You freely give. Help me to reflect Your grace by releasing those who have hurt me. Teach me to let go—so I can live free. Heal my heart from bitterness and help me walk in peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“You can’t heal holding what God told you to hand over.”
