“While It Still Hurts"

Yesterday we stood at Calvary and heard words that challenge all of us. Jesus did not forgive after the pain stopped. He forgave while it still hurt. He did not wait for an apology. He did not wait for the scene to change. He prayed mercy while the nails were still there.

And that confronts us, because we often tell ourselves, “I will forgive when I feel better.” But Jesus shows us that forgiveness is not ignoring the wound. It is refusing to let the wound rule you.

This week, before you replay what they did, pause. Before you rehearse the hurt again, pray. Sometimes forgiveness is the first step toward freedom.

Who do you need to release to God this week so your heart can begin to heal?

Prayer:

Father, give me the grace to forgive like You. Help me release what I have been carrying and keep my heart from growing hard. Heal what is still tender and lead me into freedom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
