Monday Manna w/ Pastor Batiste - “The Bible Tells Me So”
There was a song I used to sing coming up in Sunday School that said, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” As a child, I sang it because I learned the words. But as I’ve grown, I’ve discovered that those words carry a deeper truth: what God says about me is stronger than what life tries to call me.
Yesterday, we were reminded by 1 Peter 2 that God sees us differently from the way the world does. He calls us chosen. He calls us His own possession. He says we have purpose, and He reminds us that mercy has changed our story.
That means rejection does not get to name you. Failure does not get to define you. Your past does not get the final word over you. If God says you are chosen, valuable, and loved, then that is the truth you have to live from.
So this week, when life tries to cause you to question who you are, go back to what the Bible says. You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. You are not what happened to you. You belong to God.
“When you know what God says about you, you do not have to be controlled by what others call you.”
Prayer: Lord, help me see myself the way You see me. Remind me that I am chosen, loved, valuable, and covered by mercy. Teach me to live from Your truth and not from the labels of my past. Amen.
