As we begin this week, let me ask you something—what's getting the best of you? Your time, your energy, your thoughts. Is God in that mix… or just in the margins?

In Haggai 1, the people were busy building their own houses while God’s house sat in ruins. Their priorities got twisted—not because they didn’t care, but because they got comfortable. And if we’re honest, comfort will always compete with commitment.

When God says “Give careful thought to your ways,” He’s not trying to guilt-trip you—He’s inviting you to realign. Because when He’s not first, everything else starts to fall apart. But when He’s in His rightful place, life finds a better rhythm.

So this week, before the calendar fills up, before you rush back into routine—pause and ask yourself: Am I making room for what matters most?

Prayer: Lord, forgive me when I’ve made everything else more important than You. Help me to reset my heart and my schedule, so that You are first in everything I do. Amen.
