Monday Manna w/ Pastor Batiste - “The Assignment Still Matters”
Father’s Day has come and gone. The great thing about it is that the assignment of fatherhood does not end when the day is over. Gifts may be opened, cards may be read, and celebrations may pass, but the responsibility God has given fathers and father figures still remains.
Yesterday, we were reminded through David’s charge to Solomon that a father does not have to be perfect to be responsible. David had flaws, failures, and things he probably wished he could do over. Even so, before he left this world, he still gave his son direction for life, obedience to God’s Word, and confidence in God’s promises.
That is a word for all of us. If we want to carry it forward, our families do not just need what we provide. They need what we pass down. They need truth. They need prayer. They need godly direction. They need to see us walking with the Lord.
So, as your pastor, I want to encourage every father, father figure, and man of God: keep showing up. Keep leading. Keep praying. And keep pointing your family back to God.
“A godly father leaves more than memories. He leaves direction.”
Prayer: Lord, help us to be clear about the assignment You have given us. Strengthen every father and father figure to lead with wisdom, walk in Your Word, and leave a faithful example for the next generation. Amen.
